LRAS3 and DVE - Omega conducts New Equipment Training (NET) for the Army’s Program Manager Night Vision / Real Time Situational Awareness. NET we provide includes the Long Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3) and the Driver’s Vision Enhancer (DVE). LRAS3 capabilities include target acquisition, detection, recognition, and identification. It also offers “Far Target Location” under conditions of limited visibility such as darkness, smoke, fog, dust and haze. DVE provides vehicle drivers navigational assistance under similar conditions of limited visibility such as darkness, smoke, fog, dust, and haze.
Two Omega teams train Regular, Reserve, and National Guard Units -- CONUS and OCONUS. LRAS3 is a 24-hour course consisting of classroom and hands-on training under both day and night operating conditions. DVE is a 32-hour course comprised of eight hours of classroom and hands-on training, and 16 hours of actual day and night driving using the DVE.
