Land Warrior – Stryker
Interoperable (LW – SI) provides
the Soldier with total battlefield
visibility through command, control,
communications and information
sharing at the Soldier level.
These components are integrated
into a system to enhance the
lethality, battle command compatibility,
survivability, mobility, and
sustainability of dismounted
combat Soldiers.
The LW system significantly
enhances the Soldier’s ability
to engage and defeat enemy targets
while minimizing friendly casualties.
It also enables LW-equipped Soldiers
to prepare for dismounted fight
while still mounted in the Stryker
Interim Armor Vehicle. It also
gives key leaders the ability to
effectively communicate and update
the tactical plan.
The LW system’s
modular design permits tailoring
for mission requirements, minimizes
combat load, and facilitates maintenance.
Further, the improved power source’s
ability to recharge from select
Stryker Vehicles, coupled with
reduced power draw and power management,
reduces the Soldier’s load
and decreases the logistics footprint
(it reduces the need for batteries).
Omega is the only
company to remain under contract
for the Land Warrior Program throughout
its several transitions. We are
currently, and have been for over
eight years, the Training Integrated
Product Team (IPT) lead, coordinating
the efforts of up to six other
companies and ten DoD agencies
for the Land Warrior program. |
