2008 Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament - June 17, 2008 Maple Ridge Golf Club, Columbus, Georgia
As America's War on Terrorism enters its seventh year, military personnel from Special Operations Forces (SOF) continue deploying to combat zones to fight terrorism in the world's hot spots.
The warriors assigned to SOF are conducting more missions, and under a broader range of conditions than ever before. These missions entail high operations tempos, heavy and unpredictable deployment schedules, personal hardships, and an increasing number of casualties. Because these operations are high risk some of our finest SOF members have been killed while participating in combat or training missions.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation was formed to
preserve the legacies of warriors killed in their high risk
action and training. The SOWF works diligently and unselfishly to identify and provide scholarship funds for the college-bound children of SOF Soldiers killed in action. (Access http://www.specialops.org for more information.) Omega Training Group, Inc., is proud to announce its commitment to SOWF's endeavors and invites you and your company to do the same.

February
8, 2006, Tammy Clark,
Brett Heard, and Danny Wyatt of
the Training and Analysis Business
Unit presented Omega’s first
collaborative training effort — the
Collaborative Decision-Making Training
Simulation (CDTS) — at the
2006 Society
for Applied Learning Technology
(SALT) Interactive Technologies
Conference in Orlando, FL. This
goal of this conference is to provide
training developers, educators,
consultants and other professionals
with a comprehensive overview of
the latest technologies for education
and training systems, job performance
improvement systems, and knowledge
management systems.
The
CDTS was first debuted at I/ITSEC
last November. Included in
the SALT conference presentation
was a preview of Omega’s
future direction for the CDTS – a
3D development effort. The
scenario used in the CDTS presented
the learner with the challenge
of assaulting a building in a military
or police type action. Conference
attendees were also interested
in using the program to train other
skills, such as onboard ship firefighting
and various medical procedures. Overall,
the CDTS was well-received and
will hopefully open a new door
for Omega’s training simulation
work. |

Omega
Joins the Ranger Training Brigade
A team of
Omega’s professionals
are working to help the Ranger Training
Brigade update, administer, supply,
and teach the Reconnaissance and
Surveillance Leader’s Course
(RSLC).
RSLC develops the combat arms skills
of officers and noncommissioned officers
who will be assigned to reconnaissance
and surveillance units. The graduates
receive the 6B ASI, indicating they
are trained in detailed planning,
survival, and evasion techniques.
Six Omegans
support the RSLC - a doctrinal
analyst/team leader; a communications
technician; a Survival Evasion,
Resistance, and Escape (SERE) instructor;
an intelligence instructor; and
a supply and administrative specialist ― to
allow the course to train an increased
number of students while meeting
the force’s increasing need
for special reconnaissance units. |
