Weapons Business Unit

Omega’s Weapons/Vehicles Business Unit provides provides expert training development assistance for mortars, small arms, electro-optical devices, anti-armor, mobility, and active protection systems.

The Weapons/Vehicles Business Unit employs innovative training methods, simulations, and supportability activities to reduce program costs, deliver effective weapons, and enhance training for Soldiers. Omega’s wealth of military and technology integration experience helps us leverage the impact of emerging technologies on current and future Infantry weapons systems.

The Weapons/Vehicles Business Unit supports:

  • Transformation Support to G3/DOT
    • Stryker Transformation and TADDS Analysis
    • Soldier as a System Analysis
    • Infantry Futures/STRAC Analysis
    • Urban Operations Analysis
    • Stryker Transformation Support Analysis
    • Crew Served Weapons Analysis
    • Future Combat Systems Analyst

  • Digital Training and Analysis
    • Conduct digital instruction and system training analysis for Maneuver Control System (MCS) and Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2).
    • Provide qualified instructors to perform the POIs for the MCS and FBCB2 courses as scheduled under Army Training Requirements and Resources System.
    • Courses taught: BOLC, ANCOC, BNCOC, ICCC, PCC.
    • Perform network systems administration and management of the classroom digital training network.

  • OIF/OEF Post Combat Survey (PCS)
    • Assist the DCD design, administer, analyze, draw insights, and develop reports concerning PCS of all BCTs returning from OIF and OEF.
    • Schedule surveys with BCT Opns.
    • Respond to outside agencies request for survey data.

  • Doctrine & Training Development & Editorial Support
    • Prepare, staff, revise, update and finalized FMs, TMs for which the MCoE has proponency.

  • Resident instruction in:
    • Javelin Gunner/Train the Trainer Course
    • Sniper Course
    • Infantry Mortar Leaders Course
    • Combat Lifesaver Course
    • Sniper Employment Leaders Course
    • Short Range Marksmanship Course

  • Small Arms Weapons and Optics
    • Provide qualified instructors to perform the POIs for these courses as scheduled under Army Training Requirements and Resources System.
    • Update POIs, Training plans, Training Support Packages.
    • Provide instructors to support Mobile Training Team Missions.
    • Provide operations/admin support of course requirement.

  • Ground School XXI
    • Clear, concise, executable plan to implement GS XXI at MCOE
    • Ground based combined arms training strategy that leverages simulators and simulations
    • POM funding timing and justification for materiel, facilities, and personnel
    • Cost Benefit Analysis
    • ORSA Analysis
    • Concept Analysis

  • NATO 5-Powers (US, UK, France, Italy, Germany) Brigade and Below Urban Operations Investigation
    • Urban Operations Organizations
    • Urban Operations Capabilities
    • Identify Urban Operations Gaps and areas for improvement
    • Goal: Conduct joint UO efficiently and effectively

  • Tiger Team Support to DOT/G3
    • Systems training analysis and development of training strategies supporting the Army Transformation Program, and directed BRAC consolidation of the Armor and Infantry Schools forming the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) at Fort Benning.

  • FIRECON (17)
    • Mortar Fire Control System (MFCS)
      • Combines a highly accurate weapon pointing device, an inertial navigation/position system, and digital communications.
      • The system allows mortar crews to send and receive digital call for fire messages, determine the pointing and position of the weapon, and calculate ballistic solutions.
      • The MFCS provides significant enhancements in survivability, accuracy, and responsiveness, while providing a link to other digital fire control network assets.
      • MFCS allows mortars to stop, fire, and move in less than one minute, down from the current 8/12 minutes (day/night) standard.
    • Lightweight Handheld Mortar Ballistic Computer (LHMBC)
      • All weather, Lightweight hand held computer
      • Generates firing solutions for 60, 81, 120 mm mortars while correcting for meteorological and other conditions
      • Replaces M23 MBC
    • 60mm, 81mm, 120 mm Systems
