Position is full-time exempt (salaried) working with the Life Cycle Contractor Support for the Warfighter FOCUS (WFF) program under the Warrior Training Alliance (WTA) at the National Training Center (NTC). NTC is located at Fort Irwin, CA, in the Mojave Desert, approximately forty miles northeast of Barstow, CA. WTA operations support the NTC mission: to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battle Field.
Applicant will Support Observer Controller (OC) team with situational awareness, doctrinal principles, and tactical knowledge; operate ABCS computer system to create, consolidate, edit, and print products. Observes and analyzes in real time and from stored exercise data the events that occur during simulated combat operations, makes judgments concerning the adequacy and soundness of tactical command, control, and maneuver. Ensures combat systems are correctly replicated, instrumented and portrayed.

Requirements |
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, or Electronics related field. May consider experience in lieu of formal education (12 years plus of equivalent military training, technical school, or professional experience).
Required Experience: Former officer or NCO with a minimum of 12 years military experience in light infantry or special force operations is required. Combat Training Center (CTC) experience as an analyst of at least one-year or CTC experience as an observer-controller or member of OPFOR is required. Applicants will be required to operate a digital Radio Control Station (RCS) and maintain a shift log. Applicant must be experienced with Army Battle Command System (ABCS) component. Applicants must possess knowledge of the NTC field terrain; the install/de-install of MILES on vehicles, and perform system check out. Experience in the use Microsoft Office software products is required.
Desired Experience: Officer Advance Course, or Advance NCO course, or Battle Staff Course graduate desired. Experience as a battalion and/or brigade staff officer is desired, experience at NTC as an observer controller with a working knowledge of computer network systems and data processing, and NTC-IS. Recent theater experience with light infantry or special operations forces is desired.
Desired Physical Abilities: Able to work long hours on a 7-day a week scheduled days, nights, and swing shifts. Must be able work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind), and climbing in or on military or commercial equipment.
Special Requirements: Possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, and maintain Post driving privileges. Obtain military licenses and Night Vision certification if required. Applicant must demonstrate a solid command (both written and oral) of English language and comprehend technical documentation, schematics, and diagrams. Must be a U. S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. May be required to travel support unit training within CONUS for up to 180 days.
