The Assistant Operations Officer (AS3) Course focuses on teaching prospective AS3 officers fundamental staff officer duties and responsibilities.

This Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) is Soldier-centered and performance-oriented. The lessons require students to evaluate their own learning through exercising their acquired knowledge and receiving immediate feedback on their performance.

For these lessons we created animated environments and characters used to convey information, such as “Captain Matt Collins” to convey information. “CPT Collins” uses conversational speech and prompts to introduce new characters and environments. Within these environments, various interactive objects (file cabinet, folders, etc.) allow the learner to interact with additional information.
